About
The North Coast Show and Shine is organised by a team of volunteers led by Michelle and Martin Bailey.
All proceeds of the event go to The Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service.
Michelle and Martin’s first experience organising the event took place in the summer of 23-2024. Eclipsing all expectations the first event saw over 9000 people come through gate, with people young and old enjoying the cars and motorcycles on display. The entire town's accommodation was booked out. Not even the grey skies or intermittent rain could keep people away. And this year's event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.
As president of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Support Service Michelle Bailey is passionate about supporting the Westpac Helicopter team.
From Michelle:
In a twist of fate, my journey to becoming the President of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Support Group began with a personal tragedy—my husband’s accident With a fall from heights. The experience opened my eyes to the vital role that community support plays in recovery and resilience.
Through this challenging time, we found solace and strength in the Lennox Head Machinery Club, a local car club that rallied around us and showed unwavering support throughout Martin's long recovery.
This inspired us to reignite a cherished event in our community—the North Coast Show and Shine. For years, this celebration of automotive passion had been absent from our town, and we felt it was time to bring it back.
With the camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts and the backing of the Lennox Head Machinery Club, we've created an event that not only showcases stunning vehicles but also fosters community spirit and raises awareness for the crucial services provided by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Join us in celebrating our shared love for cars and community, while supporting a cause that has touched our lives profoundly.
Together, we can make a difference!
About the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service:
Proudly here for the people of Northern NSW
Since 1975 ‘community’ has been at the heart of The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, it’s why we’ve long been proudly known as the “Community’s Own” Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

For over 45 years, thanks to the generosity and support from people right across Northern NSW, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter has grown to become a vital 24-7 aeromedical operation. Community fundraising and strong partnerships has always been integral to ensuring the quality, reliability and sustainability of our operations continue. Every life we save and every person we assist, provides a reminder of the critical role we play in our community.
